This counseling process is aimed at decreasing the emotional and psychological symptoms associated with experiencing traumatic events. Our psychological treatment provides individuals with the opportunity of identifying, analyzing and restructuring cognitive and cultural beliefs that may be preventing them from achieving a better quality of psychological and emotional experiences.
Our approach is also composed of an important psycho-educational process that provides survivors with specific tools which can be utilized to expand the understanding of their traumatic experiences and gain the skills needed to overcome the daily challenges associated with their distressful emotional experiences.

We understand that as a result of the violence and trauma experienced some individuals and their families are unable to come to our facilities. Additionally, factors such as lack of resources, intense emotional distress and physical impairments make it difficult for some clients to attend sessions at our offices. Therefore, therapists at Survivors Pathway Center conduct assessments and treatments at clients' homes.
Survivors' Pathway offers comprehensive psychological evaluations for victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and victims of rape, for adults and children. These evaluations include the victim's interview, behavioral observations, formal test administration, assessment reports, personal feedback to the victims, and legal consultation as appropriate.
This group was created with a specific cultural approach to provide support and education to Latino men and women survivors of domestic violence. Support is provided in Spanish and English. During this group process, participants will have the opportunity to share experiences with other survivors, gain knowledge about factors that influence domestic violence, explore cultural and societal beliefs associated with the Latino communities that may have influenced the development of violence. We consider that one of the most important results in terms of education during this group process is the opportunity that participants will have in developing skills to identify and create healthy relationships.
